Installation steps

Install the piston ring: Insert the piston rings one by one into the piston ring grooves, making sure the piston ring holes are offset by 120°, and apply a small amount of engine oil to the top of the piston.

Assemble the piston and connecting rod: place the small end of the connecting rod on the piston pin, press and lock it with a special tool, make sure the piston pin and the small end bore of the connecting rod are in good alignment, and measure the clearance between the piston skirt and the cylinder wall with an inside diameter micrometer.

Install the connecting rod cap and bolts: Align the connecting rod cap with the big end of the connecting rod and tighten it with the connecting rod bolts, following the principle of "gradually tighten from the middle to both sides several times."

Install the piston: Place the assembled piston assembly into the cylinder, compress it using a piston ring compressor, gently rotate the crankshaft by hand until the piston reaches bottom dead center, and recheck the clearance between the piston skirt and the cylinder wall.
