Fabric: Commonly used materials include leather, which is soft, durable and easy to clean, as well as breathable and relatively inexpensive fabrics.

Frame: Mainly made of high-strength steel, which ensures the structural strength and stability of the seat, and can withstand the weight of the driver as well as the vibration and shock of the excavator during operation.

Filling: Primarily sponge, which provides varying degrees of softness and support depending on its density and hardness. High-quality sponge also has good elasticity and can retain its shape for a long time.

Installation steps

Preparation: Prepare the necessary tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, etc., as well as the new seat to be installed and any mounting accessories such as bolts, nuts, washers, etc. At the same time, make sure the excavator is parked in a safe place, turn off the engine and disconnect the power supply.

Removing the old seat: Use appropriate tools to loosen and remove the bolts or nuts that secure the old seat, remove the old seat from its mounting location, and be careful to save the removed parts.

Clean the installation site: Clean the seat installation site from dust, debris and rust, check whether the installation surface is flat and there is no damage, if there is any problem, fix it in a timely manner.

Install the new seat: Place the new seat in its installation location, align the mounting holes, install the bolts and spacers, and then use a wrench or screwdriver to pre-tighten the nuts, but do not tighten them completely to allow for subsequent adjustment.

Adjust the seat position: Adjust the seat's fore and aft position, height, tilt, etc. as needed to achieve a comfortable position that provides the driver with easy control, good visibility and a comfortable ride.

Tighten the mounting bolts: After adjusting the seat position, fully tighten the mounting bolts or nuts to the specified torque to ensure the seat is securely installed.

Inspection and testing: Start the excavator and check that the seat is securely installed and there is no play or abnormal vibration. Simultaneously, use the various seat adjustment functions, such as forward and backward movement, backrest adjustment, etc., to ensure proper operation.

Common faults

Adjustment function malfunction: The electric adjustable seat may not move forward and backward, the height adjustment may not work, the backrest angle may not be adjusted, etc. The reasons may include a malfunction of the adjustment motor, damage to the control switch, open circuit or short circuit, blown fuse, etc.

Reduced shock absorption performance: The shock absorption performance of the shock absorber seat deteriorates, which may be caused by hydraulic oil leakage inside the shock absorber, weakening or damage to the elasticity of the shock absorber spring, wear of the shock absorber components, etc.

Unusual Noise Problem: If the seat makes unusual noises, such as creaking or clicking, during use, it could be caused by loose connections on the seat frame, dirt or wear on the seat rails, or loose connections between the backrest and seat cushion.

Seat surface damage: The leather or fabric of the seat may become worn, torn, faded, etc., affecting its appearance and comfort. This is primarily caused by prolonged use, friction from the driver, and exposure to sunlight.

Electrical system malfunction: Seats with heated and ventilated functions may experience problems such as lack of heating or poor ventilation. This is typically caused by a broken heating wire, a failed fan, a faulty temperature sensor, or a problem with the associated control circuit.

Subjective sensations:

Vibration Intensity: When the excavator is operating normally, especially when moving or performing operations such as excavation and crushing, which generate strong vibration, sit in the seat and feel the vibration intensity. If you clearly feel strong vibrations transmitted to your body, even causing physical discomfort and difficulty sitting, this indicates poor seat damping performance. A good shock-absorbing seat should be able to effectively dampen vibrations, so that the vibrations felt by your body are relatively weak.

Comfort: After working on an excavator for a long time, pay attention to your level of physical fatigue. If the seat has good shock absorption, it can reduce the impact of vibration on your body, preventing excessive fatigue from vibration. Conversely, if the shock absorption is poor, your body will quickly experience fatigue, including soreness and numbness, especially in areas that come into contact with the seat, such as your waist, buttocks, and back.

Operating Stability: Monitor the seat's stability during operation. If the seat has good damping properties, even when the excavator is operating with increased vibration, the seat may remain relatively stable without significant shaking or movement, helping the driver operate the controls more accurately. If the seat shakes significantly during vibration, affecting precision and comfort, this indicates a problem with the damping properties.

Shock absorber appearance: Inspect the seat shock absorber (if it is a hydraulic or mechanical shock absorber seat) to ensure there are no oil leaks, deformations, damage, etc. Oil leakage from hydraulic shock absorbers will lead to a decrease in the fluid level in the shock absorbers, thereby reducing the shock absorber's effectiveness; deformation or damage to the mechanical components of the shock absorber will also affect its normal shock absorber function.

Connectors: Check for loose fasteners between the seat and base, as well as between the shock absorber and the seat and base, such as bolts and nuts. Loose connections can cause the seat to shake excessively during vibration, which will reduce the shock-absorbing effect and may damage other components.

Spring Condition: For seats with spring suspension, check that the spring is not deformed, broken, or has lost its elasticity. A deformed or broken spring directly affects its ability to absorb vibration, and a spring that has lost its elasticity cannot effectively absorb vibration energy.

Comparison test:

Compare with good seats of the same model: If you have several excavators of the same model and one has good shock absorption, you can sit on different seats to feel the vibration. This comparison will give you a clearer idea of ​​whether the shock absorption of the target seat is acceptable.

Unloaded and loaded tests: Feel the seat's damping effect when the excavator is unloaded and loaded. Excavator vibration is typically greater when loaded. If the seat's damping effect is acceptable when unloaded, but vibration significantly increases when loaded, this indicates that its damping performance under heavy load is poor and may not meet actual operating requirements.

Professional testing:

Vibration measuring instruments: Use professional vibration measuring instruments such as accelerometers to measure the vibration parameters of the seat under various operating conditions, such as vibration acceleration, frequency, etc. Comparing the measurement results with design standards or the normal range of the seat allows you to accurately determine whether the shock absorption performance is good.
